HPD's Series 2 top-mount intercooler kit suits the 76/78/79 Series LandCruiser 1VD-FTV V8 and is built around a large 300×700×60mm bar-and-plate core with billet CNC-machined end tanks and intake elbows. Mounts are machined directly into the tanks and buffered with rubber inserts for strong under-bonnet mounting, while the core construction delivers better flow and thermal efficiency than the OEM unit.

Twin Australian-made Davies Craig 9" thermo fans, driven by a surface-mounted temperature switch and a supplied loom with fuse and relay, run only when needed. The result is a marked drop in intake and exhaust gas temperatures that supports a stronger, safer tune, and the top-mount layout suits vehicles fitted with winches or spotlights that restrict front airflow.
