About Fuel Pump Compensators (Aneroids)

  • A fuel pump compensator (aneroid) is classed as a Pollution Control Device, typically $1,000–$1,800 — not a genuine performance device.
  • A correctly configured injection system performs nearly as well as a factory turbo without an aneroid — our systems are designed to perform "Stand Alone".
  • Over-fuelling with an aneroid is unsafe, exceeds manufacturer specifications, and voids aftermarket turbo warranties.
  • We keep fuel loadings within Boost Pressure, Air/Fuel ratio and Exhaust Temperature specifications — protecting your warranty and engine longevity.

On-Road vs Dyno Tuning

  • A dyno is only as good as its operator — results vary with air temperature, calibration and operator honesty.
  • We prefer on-road testing with proper test gear (air/fuel ratio meter, boost gauge) for a true, real-time picture.
  • Many 4WD diesels post impressive dyno figures yet feel lack-lustre on the road.
  • No 4WD or aftermarket turbo manufacturer supplies rear-wheel dyno figures as a standard.
