The HPD GTX turbo upgrade kit is a safe, reliable way to add power and torque to the 4.2L 1HD-FTE 100 Series LandCruiser. It combines a Garrett GTX2867R GEN II turbocharger with braided oil and water lines and HPD custom 3-inch aluminium mandrel-bent intake piping, and bolts directly onto the standard exhaust manifold so no aftermarket turbo manifold is needed.
The GTX2867R GEN II spools quickly and runs a billet compressor wheel with anti-surge slots, holding 20–30psi for strong towing, highway and general 4WD use. It retains the factory exhaust flange so an existing 3-inch dump pipe can be reused, and with supporting modifications (HPD series 2 front-mount intercooler, turbo-back 3-inch exhaust, injector upgrade, boost controller and tuning) it can produce around 150–170 awkW. Individual results vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on setup and tune.
